How to scan a text for AI

Paste or type text into the Pangram dashboard to check whether it was written by AI, then read and understand your result.

Last reviewed Jul 24, 2026

Pangram's dashboard lets you check any piece of writing for AI-generated content in a few seconds. This guide walks through running a scan on a piece of text and reading the result.

Before you begin

  • You need a Pangram account and must be logged in. See How to log in and out of Pangram if you haven't signed in yet.
  • Your text must be at least 50 words. Shorter passages currently don't give Pangram enough signal to analyze reliably.

Scan a text

  1. Log in to Pangram and open your dashboard at https://www.pangram.com/dashboard, or by clicking "Dashboard" in the top right of the Pangram homepage if you are already logged in.
    1. If you are already logged in and in the dashboard, click "New Check" on the sidebar in the top left of the page.
  2. Paste or type the text you want to check into the text box. Pangram will only scan texts that are greater than 50 words.
  3. Click the Check for AI button.
  4. Wait a few seconds while Pangram analyzes the text. Your result will appear on the same screen. Please see How to read a Pangram scan for information on reading your scan.
